Co-Scholastic

CO-SCHOLASTIC ACTIVITIES

Co-Scholastic activities help learners to utilise the fullest potential of their brain by making them think from both lobes of their brain thereby paving way for holistic development. We strive hard to strike a tandem to connect the activities done through the co scholastic domain to ensure reinforcement of the things learnt in the scholarly domain. The co scholastic integration makes the students more brilliant and helps them perform their tasks effectively in an organised manner.

Sports (Indoor & Outdoor)

SKI provides a lot of opportunities for the Students to actively participate in the all the sports activities be it interschool or Infra school sports competitions. The big Playground area and all the modern equipments for Sports Activities are a vent to pent up energies of robust kids. Football, Cricket, Throw ball, Ring throw and kho..kho.. are practised as outdoor sports. All kinds of athletic events are also included in the physical fitness regime. Chess and Carom are presently practised as indoor sports. We have well experienced and trained Physical Trainers to carry out all the fitness regime and sports activities.

Yoga

Yoga has been an integral part of Health and is a compulsory subject up to the secondary school. SKI focuses on developing healthy minds in the Students by way of Yoga as a part of the School Curriculum. The precondition for all development is healthy physical growth of all children. Yoga contributes to not merely the physical development of the child but has a positive impact on psychosocial and mental development as well.

Dance

India has thousands of year old tradition of Dance arts both classical and folk. SKI firmly believes that it has a significant role to revive these fine arts and care is taken to accomplish this by integrating to the co-scholastic domain and recruiting proper talent to ensure that the modules for the visual and performing arts happen without obstacles.

Classical Music

Western Music

European Music is generally known as Western Music in a broader concept. In the vision of giving a wider spectrum of arts to the students. SKI has recruited trained masters to impart their knowledge in Drums and Keyboard. Needless to say these two instruments are the most sought after and the soul of any western orchestra.

Art & Craft

We at SKI impart Arts as a part of our curriculum and integrate itas far as possible to the scholarly areas in the primary segment. We have creative and talented teachers for the improvement of the Fine Motor Skills of our students. Our teachers tap the creativity and imagination of our students to bring out their hidden talents in various forms. Kids love doing a variety of arts and crafts as an outlet to be creative and have some fun. Little do they know that it is so good for their academic development as well!

Karate

SKI introduced Karate with an idea to develop self defence in the learners. To realise this we have framed it into the scheme of skill development with a set of professional who are well trained and efficient. We have Karate coaching at the School as a part of Student Activity. Our students have risen up to black belt status in the arena of Karate. Apart from a physical activity, karate provides enough self confidence to students to face the world.

National Cadet Crops (NCC)

The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed force.

Chess

It is said that “Chess is the gymnasium of the mind” where you compete your own moves, gauge the opponent’s moves and do a complete rehearsal of the game before hand. Playing Chess, children gain a lot as it:

Cricket

It is often said that “a childhood without cricket is like no childhood.”  Who can deny this?  Cricket is such a popular sport and enamoured in our country that every child wants to play cricket as a game and some to pursue as a career.  We at Sri Krish International School identify children who have an inherent interest for cricket and who has innate capabilities to excel in the game, through experienced and renowned cricket aficionados who can spot talent early and groom them.

Cricket also helps children, as a game, to:

Silambattam

Martial arts are not only a part of India’s ancient culture and tradition but is also a self-defence form of art that keeps you fit physically.  We at Sri Krish International School offer an opportunity to children to learn Silambattam a weapon-based martial art form from our home State Tamilnadu, through much experienced and knowledgeable martial arts teachers who are skilled in this game.

Silambattam provides a foundation to condition the body for the training itself. This includes improving flexibility, agility, hand-eye coordination, kinesthetic awareness, balance, strength, speed, muscular endurance, and cardiovascular stamina at an young age for the children.

In children, Silambattam:

Scout

Aerobics
